I thought I had two big accomplishments tonight, but turns out I only had one.

Good news first. I finally, after many hours of frustration got the tank out of my bike. Mostly thanks to my online bike club Naked GoldWings. Now I can get to the business of using a Kreem kit to de-rust and seal the inside of my tank, so I don't plug up my carbs.

Now the bad news... apparently I am not the worlds best jump-roper. After I got the tank out of my bike I decided to do some jump rope outside in the drive way. It was already dark but that didn't stop me, so I got my rope and started jumping. It seemed pretty normal for a while with a few mess ups here and there, but after I got warm I started the best jump roping I had done in my life. I was going super fast and alternating feet and just could not be stopped... after a while, even though I though I was somehow not messing up at all I got tiered and decided to end my epic streak of what must have been around 300 consecutive jumps, so I stopped jumping, but to my surprise the rope didn't catch on my feet like I though it would.... sadly I am not as good as I thought.

I heard an radio interview with one of the Occupy Wall Street protesters who said " It's not fair that we have to graduate college with huge amounts of student loans and no jobs..."
I constantly hear people talking about how we have made a society of entitlement, but to hear it put so bluntly, boggles my mind how these protesters think that by camping out and complaining that "things aren't fair" and "corporate greed is evil" will do any good whatsoever. It is the adult equivalent of a toddler throwing a fit because one of the other kids has more toys. The only thing that keeps these people out there is the attention they are getting from the media. It brings a certain video to mind.

The Juidth, KTP and WW are visiting this week and it has been AWESOME! Picked them up Saturday and we visited Prima Donna for a while.

Sunday we went to church in Springville and had a great time.

Today I spent all morning and afternoon at my uncle Rex's place helping to re-shingle the roof on his garage. It was perfect day to do too. I figured with all the help he has given me with cars and motorcycle stuff over the past few years it was the least I could do.

Moving to BEAUTIFUL Washington!!!
The detail have not come through yet as far as when we are moving, but it's pretty much a sure thing. We are so excited to be close to friends and family up there, but will miss friends here as well.
The bike is coming along nicely. Got the headlight mounted the other day as well as the turn signals. Just need to do the wiring and then get the paint done on the panels, fenders and tank cover. It's gonna be AWESOME!!

I bought a compression tester the other day for the Goldwing and here are the results...

As you can see they are pretty consistent with each other, which is a good thing. After validating that all the cylinders are getting good compression I took it down to Garrett Honda in Nephi (I had some good recommendations for that shop) last Friday to get the carbs cleaned. It was an beautiful day and V followed me with Penny while Eva played in the park some neighbors. Even with the bike really only running on 3 cylinders it had a good amount of power. I cruised at about 75-80 mph most of the way down with no problems. The only problem is, when I called and asked about bringing it in, they didn't tell me there was a big backlog of work for them and they won't be able to get to it for a while. I guess it's no big deal since two days after taking it down there on a 72 degree afternoon it snowed about 3'' at our house,so I wouldn't be doing any riding either way.

Yesterday, I decided to do some modification on my cabinet that holds my desktop to allow more air flow since it has been overheating and slowing the performance. I started by using my jigsaw to cut a large hole in the side where I put a new vent on, then I cut the hole in the top out larger. I used to have the printer, router, and phone base on the top of the cabinet but since I cut the hole larger I need to install a shelf above the cabinet. I used a stud finder to figure out where to attach the "L" brackets for the shelf, but when I started to drill I ran into a bit of a problem. Actually, it was a water line coming from the hot water heater. So after a nice spray in the face of hot water and maybe a bad word or two I rushed down the crawl space and turned off the water main. V came running in because she thought one of the creatures got hurt, but when she saw the water spraying from the wall "you idiot, I thought one of the kids got hurt" was all she said. After turning off the water, I cut a small square out of the dry wall and saw that the hole I drilled was right above an "L" joint. I took some pictures and left for Home Depot. The guy in the plumbing department was really good and hooked me up with every thing I needed for the repair. Luckily it was easier than I thought it would be. All I had to do was cut the PEX pipe and pull it down over the "L" joint and crimp a new brass ring around it. Now all I have to do is fix the hole in the dry wall. I finished up the shelf and am happy to say that the computer is running much cooler and better.

Got my manometer in the mail this week. Hooked it up Friday night and found that only one of the carbs is not working properly. The other three seem to be acting like they should. Hopefully this means that I will be able to take it into the shop and have just one of the carbs cleaned rather than all four. I also picked up a compression tester last night at harbor freight. This is just to make sure that there is not a bigger underlying problem with the cylinder.
Today at church V and I gave talks, I thought they went pretty well. I was able to listen to V's talk our in the foyer while trying to manage by myself with the two kids, but V was not able to hear hardly any of mine. I did get a decent laugh when at the start of my talk I said that the bishop had asked me to speak on service three weeks ago, but I decided to talk about something else that had been on my mind and a lot of other peoples minds as well... Jimmer Fredette. Of course I said I was just kidding and gave my talk on service.

Update on the Goldwing.
After messing around with the bike for about two weeks now I know about a few issues. First and foremost the carbs need to be cleaned, which sucks. After doing a lot of research, I have come to the conclusion that this is not a project that I would like to undertake myself. It requires a few things of which I am short on: Time, tools and know how. If I had at least two of the three I think I could make it work but I just don't. The problem is that the bike will not idle well due to one or more of the idle jets being clogged up. Most likely compounded by the the carbs being out of sync, and the camshaft belt needing to be replaced. The carb cleaning is looking like it will set me back the most so I am going to try syncing them myself first before I take it into the Honda shop to have it done, but I have to find a manometer to buy, rent or borrow to do it.

I sold my motorbike this weekend. I didn't get as much as I paid for it, but it's just a means to an end. Hopefully I can get my goldwing in the next week our so. Eva is doing much better. We took her to the doctors office on wednesday and she had a fever of 103.6. She was diagnosed with two ear infections, one severe and the other not so bad. She has been on her antibiotic for a few days now but its a struggle getting her to swallow it after we hold her down and force it in her mouth. Penny was sick for a while but she is back to being her cute self.

A couple of changes have taken place at home. First, we ditched the dish. We now are bunny ears only for tv, although we do have netflixs. Second we no longer have the same home phone number. Since I ended my tmobile contract they decided they didn't want my business for only a $ 10 a month land line, so we signed up for the vonage world plan. This way V can call Venezuela and Canada for free. Finally we were about to switch to comcast for our internet service, but when I called to cancel our service with digis, they offered me a free month of service, an upgrade to thier premium service and for only $20 a month for 9 months. All this adds up to about $20 a month in savings, which is not a big deal but the upgrades are what will make it nice.

We are back from our trip to Venezuela. The trip really started on 10-23-10 a Saturday. We left home around 12 noon to head up to Bountiful where we were going to spend the night. We met up with our friends Curtis and Niyi at Cafe Rio and had a great lunch with them and the kids. After that we went the airport and bought the lap child ticket for Penny and then to Grandma's house and hung out there the rest of the nigh. Sunday morning we woke up at 5:30am and got ready and drove to Uncle Rex's house who was kind enough to take us to the airport. Everything at SLC went smoothly, and in fact the flight to Atlanta was fairly uneventful. After a two hour layover in Atlanta the real nightmare began. I think the problem was that we didn't really have a good plan of what to do in case of a meltdown. About 2 1/2 hours into the flight Eva decided that she did not want to be confined to the small space that was our seats and started to try to escape to the aisle. Not wanting to cause a scene in the aisle knowing that I would have to put her back in her seat I just wrestled with her for about 45 minutes while she screamed at the top of her lungs. I can't think of A time where I was more frustrated. However, We made it to Caracas and off the plane. V's sister Irania was at the airport to meet us. We stayed at a nice hotel call the Eurobuilding that was really close to the airport. We ordered room service Sunday night since we were waiting for Jeff Mariu and Kamila to arrive from Montreal Monday night. The breakfast in the lobby Monday morning was actually really good, and we spent the rest of the day recovering from the stress of the previous day. Jeff and Mariu arrived late Monday night and after spending some time with them we went to bed. Tuesday morning we got up early, had breakfast and went back to the airport. V, Mariu, Irania and the kids were flying to Puerto Ordaz and then heading to their families houses, Jeff and I were flying to Margarita to windsurf. The girls flight was a bit before ours so we went to their gate with them and saw them off. After celebrating our freedom for a while we headed to our gate. The flight to Margarita was good and we arrived and had a friend of a friend with a taxi pick us up. It was about a 15 min. ride to our hotel, The Hotel California, It was also a fairly nice place and we went to our room and got settled. Later that night we went over to the beach, El Yaque, and looked around for some place to rent the windsurfing stuff for the next day. We had dinner at our hotel restaurant which turned out to be a mistake. I ordered some spaghetti and meatballs thinking it was a pretty safe choice, however when I got it, it was nearly inedible because it was so salty. I was so hungry I managed to eat some of it, but when the manager came by (we were the only ones in the place) and asked how it was I told him it was way too salty, he was nice enough to take it and give me a pizza without charge. I made another mistake of ordering a pizza with red sauce, the same as with the spaghetti and has a salty pizza. The next day we had the complimentary breakfast in the same restaurant and headed out to wind surf.
It was a good day to begin to windsurf because there was only a slight wind. We found a place to rent the equipment and my lesson began. It was a bit more complex than I originally thought but after two hours I got to a point where I could get up and going know how to steer. The bad thing about the light wind was that it was kind of boring after you picked up the basics. So we called it quits and had lunch.
Later that afternoon Jeff taught me a pretty fun card game and then I watched the world series game on TV in our room. The next day there was no wind at all so we decided to go snorkeling. We took a boat out to a little island, and then another smaller boat to a point and started there. Now let me start by saying that I have been snorkeling in the Bahamas and Hawaii, both of which were awesome. So when I got into the water and saw no coral and only one type of fish (that wasn't even very pretty) I was rather disappointed. Plus the fact that the snorkel gear was too small and wouldn't cover my big face, made it all the worse. We left for Upata the next day to meet up with the wives and kids.
To make an already long post a little shorter, Over the rest of the vacation we hung out with V's family, had a birthday party for Eva, Penny and Kamila and Also went to a ranch for a few days and did a little horseback riding.
It was really nice to meet the rest of V's family, even though I don't speak all that much Spanish, they were all fun to hang out with and get to know. On the down side it was so probably about 95 degrees and almost 100% humidity. Very hot!
The trip back home was quite a bit better than the trip down. We managed to keep the kids somewhat occupied and they even slept a little.
I will say that my trip down there really made me appreciate how good we have things here, and needless to say I was very, very happy to be home. Here a few pics from the trip... Coming soon)

The muzzle loader hunt is over and I didn't get a buck, but as you can see it was very nice to get out and enjoy the mountains.

I also saw some wild turkeys on the way up the mountain on Thursday.

The funny thing was that I called them from my car and they called back twice before they realized something was wrong with the picture.
I still have not sold my bike yet, despite lowering the price twice already. I am pretty anxious because I found the next bike that I want to get, and actually keep. It's an 1982 Gl1100. I found out a friend at work has it and wants to sell it for only $1000. I am going to go and see it today, but if it is like he tells me, I might lower the price of my bike again just to get it sold.
V has been busy getting ready for our trip to Venezuela later this month.
Eva had been talking more and more. She can repeat a lot of words now, and Penny is crawling all over the place.

Yesterday was the first day of the Muzzle loading deer hunt. I took this picture up on the mountain.

Unfortunately, I did not get my buck. I had been shadowing a group of deer trying to see if there was a buck in the group when the deer ran off. It probably had something to do with the moron who was letting his hounds run wild on the mountain barking and yelping. Also he was screaming at them from time to time. So, needless to say I was kind of disappointed, but it was good exercise none the less. \

Thanks to Rex again for the beautiful paint job, I fixed a few other minor issues on the bike and now have it up for sale on craigslist and the ksl.com. Hopefully I can get some good $$ for it so I can pay for the new laptop that I am making this post on. It's a Dell Inspiron 15R. Me: One person says "knock knock" then other person says "who's there", then the first person says something, then the second person says "something who." OK?

Me: MOOOO... huh? but you didn't, you're supposed to...ugh. never mind.

Another funny story...
Monday I had Scott and kids and Derek and his kids and wife over for a BBQ. Things were going great until late in the afternoon Eva had a fit and so we put her into her room for a much needed nap. About and hour later V comes to me and says "I can't open Eva's door." Eva's door has two locks on it. One is the regular twist type that you can easily open from the outside with your finger nail, the other is a slide bolt that you can only open from the inside. I quickly found that she had locked the slide lock. I went to our neighbors and borrowed their ladder only to find that Eva's window was also locked. So, I really had now choice except to try and break the door/lock. After unsuccessfully trying to use a hammer on the door, I decided to just kick the door in. Keep in mind that Derk, Emily, Scott and V were all watching me. So I braced myself and gave the door a good hard kick. Unfortunately, the wall that I braced myself against was no where near as strong as the door, and my entire back went through that wall behind me with a crunch. I immediately realized what happened, but not until I leaned forward exposing the 2'X3' hole in the wall did everyone else. Of course they all instantly went into hysterical laughter, not that I can blame them for that. It was one of those things were all you could do was laugh. I also noted the fact that it was most likely Derek's fault, since when he is around things tend to get broken... by me. Anyway, I did end up kicking the door in and rescuing a very traumatized Eva.

One more for the memory books I guess.

I love Walmart. Not so recently I bought a Bushnell rifle scope from Walmart for my 30-06. After trying multiple times to sight it in, due to loose scope mounts that would not stay put until I put some lock-tite on them I noticed that the glass on the front optic was loose, thus making the scope garbage. I had bought a the scope a few months ago and had no idea where the receipt and didn't have the original packaging. I thought there was no chance I would get a return or exchange, but I gave it a shot anyway, and they let me exchange it for a new one! I was (and still am) very happy about it as you can tell. I have been trying to learn how to hunt coyotes for a while now and it's almost impossible without a scope. Other than that not a lot new is going on. Penny is still refusing to crawl, even though she sits up and does mostly everything else a baby her age should do. Eva is getting smarter everyday. Maybe it shouldn't but I am amazed every time I tell her to do something and she actually understands and does it. Here are Eva's top five:

About 2 weeks ago I sold my 1980 Honda CB900 that I had bought and did a bit of cosmetic work on. I got a little more than double what I paid for it, which was nice, but I was really sad to see it go. So I started looking around and found this bike on KSL classifieds. As you can see it needs a new paint job, and some other cosmetic work. I might also do some work to restore it to a more original state since the previous owners put on some custom carbs and after market pipes. I think it improved the lower end performance at the cost of higher end power. I am thinking about doing the exact same paint job that I did on the last one since I liked it so much, unless I get a better idea. V suggested red, but I think I like the simplicity of white and black. Hopefully uncle Rex will be willing to do the paint job for me again after I get everything all prepared.

The Judith and Nhoj are in town this weekend and it has been so nice to have them around. It make a huge difference to have some extra able hands around the house to give V and I some time to do some other things like re-organize the shed and take a spin on the motorcycle. Also we have been grilling up a storm on the new grill that I bought about a two weeks ago. Yesterday we grilled shrimp and steak and today we did some chicken with my friend Matt's amazing BBQ sauce. It's so nice to be able to get outside and not mess up the kitchen so much.

Eva has been addicted to her favorite cartoon Pocoyo that she watches on youtube. It's kind of fun to watch it with her since it's one of the few things in Spanish that I can mostly understand.

Penny had been quite the well behaved baby until her teeth started bothering her yesterday. She's been sleeping mostly through the night, only waking up once around 2am to eat, which has been a big improvement.

V has been an exercising maniac. Since getting our gym pass about two weeks ago she has been going almost everyday, including Saturday. She has been about 10 times, while I have only gone twice... I just don't really want to exercise like I used to, mostly because I have so many other things that I had to do, but also because I am lazy.
Hopefully I can finish the bike in a few weeks and have some sweet after pictures.

We had some new neighbors move in next door and they have a little girl about the same age. I think they are going to be good friends.

Another good thing about our neighbors is that they can watch P and E while we take a ride up Hobble Creek canyon.

The bike looks a bit smaller with me on it...

Penny has been eating like a cow recently, and has her first few teeth coming in already. We thought it would have taken longer, like Eva, but I guess not. She isn't standing with support yet, we always joke she is a very lazy baby because when we try to help her stand, her legs turn to jello.
Eva loves playing and going to the park (as you can see from the previous post) I think she could be there for 4 hours and still cry when we leave. She had been good in nursery the last few week, and we hope she keeps it up.
V has been working out like a woman possessed. In fact, we just went today and signed up for Golds Gym (I guess working out at home with Tae Bo and other videos got boring). They have a little day care and all the stuff you would expect at a gym, so I think she is very happy to have the membership.
I have been trying to get a Turkey since the beginning of the month. They have over the counter Turkey tags this year in Utah. It's very nice to get outside and enjoy the nature that we have around here. Work is picking up, however I have recently started to browse for another job. I am glad that I have a job these day, but I think I am ready for a change if the right opportunity comes along.
In some bitter sweet news. My push reel mower broke the other day. I had it for two long, sweaty, summers. I would say that I am getting too old for it, but really just too lazy. I broke down and went to The Home Depot and bought a Torro. I have only used it once, but so far so good. I think the biggest advantage will be in the time I save, with the old push reel mower, I would have to mow twice a week for an hour. Now I can mow once for 30 min.

It's finally done!

After two long Saturdays at Uncle Rex's house. My tank and panels are finally done. The tank itself was in a lot worse condition that I first thought. There were a lot of dents and bumps and places where the previous paint job had runs, so it took a bit of bondo, sanding and more sanding to get it decent looking. I also painted the hood of my 4runner, it turned out really good as well, however (like I expected) the paint match is not that great since the 14 years of weathering has changed the color a bit. A big thanks to Rex for letting me use his facility and his expertise.

This is my 1980 Honda CB 900 that I just bought from a friend. My plan is to fix it up a bit (mainly give it a good paint job) and sell it for a profit. If I can't get a good price for it I will probably just keep it. :)

As you can see I need to find a left side panel for it, but it's proving to be very difficult. Any ideas on the paint job?

Here is my new project...

I bought it from my friend Matt, it's Remington Model 721 30-06. It is in pretty sorry shape as you can see, but the bore is in good condition. I've already spent a few hours cleaning it up and removing rust from the outside, howver there is still a lot of work to do as you can see. I went out last Saturday and sighted it in pretty well and it seems to shoot very accurately. I really want to go out and get a coyote, but I think I need some more practice before I can do that.

Penny has started to smile and interact with us!

V has started to do Tae Bo with Billy Blanks. It's so funny to watch her work out with Eva dancing around the living room trying to imitate her moves like she is dancing or something.

My PG basketball team is undefeated going into the last games of the season before the tournament. It's a lot more fun this season now that our team is more balanced, winning helps too.

Eva is also great. She is so much fun, on days when I get home before dark I take her to our park and play with her on the swings and slides.

Here's the story for those interested.
V started having contractions at around 4am Sunday morning. By around 8am they were getting closer together and more intense, so we called the hospital and they told us to come in. After getting settled in the room V got her epidural at around 10am and by 11:20 the doctor was in the room getting ready to deliver. Penelope was born at around 11:45am and it was awesome. Nothing like E's birth. V delivered and it only took about 4 contractions, there was no episiotomy and no forceps. In fact the whole thing went so well, it just made me even madder at Dr. Judd (aka The Butcher, the "doctor" who delivered E") P was 6lbs 14 oz and 18 inches long. She has quite a bit of hair (as you can see) and she is a very quite little baby. I think E made more noise in the first five minutes of her life than P will make in the first five days.
Mariu Kamila and Jefferson arrived Saturday evening. We tell Mariu that she is the "baby whisperer" since both our babies came with in hours of Mariu arriving. They have been a big help in keeping E entertained and all of us fed with delicious food! Anyway, here are some pictures from the last few days...

My first deer hunt!!!

My friend Dustin and I left Friday at 4:00pm and drove up to Brigham City where my awesome cousin Mike Veater let us borrow his 4wheeler and trailer. Our original plan was to just go east of Brigham city near Mantau and camp, but after learning it was all private property from an old road worker we decided to head up Logan canyon on his advice. We camped out Friday night on the Franklin Basin road with about what seemed like 600 other hunters. Saturday morning we woke up just before 6am, got ready and headed out. Unfortunately Dustin forgot his camera, but it was a beautiful little canyon we were in and perfect weather, except for the fact it was below freezing in the morning. After searching for a while up on a ridge Dustin decided to head down the hill and see if he could sort of herd some deer into sight. While he was doing that I saw a buck leading two doe up above me Near the top of the ridge. (It's kind of crazy how much your blood starts pumping in that situation.) However, as soon as I saw the buck, he moved out of sight behind some trees. I moved around to where I thought they would come out, but all happened was a doe came out and looked at me for a while, but the buck stayed hidden, and then the doe went back up into the thick trees. I tried to follow, but there was a wide patch where it had snowed earlier that week and was now just a crusty layer of ice on top of snow, so as soon as I stepped on it CRUNCH! I decided to head back to where I told Dustin I was going to go so we would not get too separated, but on my way I found the trail the deer were using and it looked like a very busy trail with signs all over. I followed the trail as it turned up the ridge and told myself "I am just going to the top to take a look around and then I am going to head back." As I crested the ridge it was all rock. (which is good because you can be really quiet on the rock) I looked down and to the south... nothing, down and to the north... movement! I crept up to a big tree about 100 yards away from the movement I saw and put my scope up (I was using my friend Dustin's .243). I could see the back side of a deer. It was eating some sage brush and pointed down hill. (At this point my heart pumping so hard I could feel it when I breathed.) "If I see antlers I am taking the shot." I though to myself as I looked though my scope. Then, to my dismay, the deer took a few steps down hill out of my sights. "Oh crap, please don't run away" I could see that I was going to have to move to a new position. There was a another large tree about 15-20 yards closer than where I was. I circled back around the tree I was at so I would be out of the line of sight of the deer as I was moving up to the closer tree. When I got to the closer tree I put my scope up again and looked around for the deer. I was afraid they had heard me and left as I was moving because I could not find it right away, but I soon saw the deer continuing to eat. It was in the perfect position for me, facing down hill with his full side profile exposed to me, except I was unsure if it was a buck ot not since its head was down in the sage brush eating. Then, just like in a instructional video on deer hunting it lifted its head and look right in my direction. I saw antlers, put my cross-hairs right behind its front shoulder and squeezed the trigger. BOOM! I saw the deer jerk violently and jump a tiny bit in the air, simultaneously I saw two other deer jack their heads up and start to run. One was a doe and the other was a HUGE BUCK!! Probably at least a 6 point. All three took off down the hill and to my left. The one I shot got about 15 yards before he wobbled and fell to the ground. The other two ran about 45 yards before the doe turned back to see where the small buck that I shot was. After seeing the buck on the ground the doe lingered for a second, but the big buck urged her to run. I was so excited, but conflicted, seeing the huge buck so close to where mine was and thinking I was too impatient was killing me. In the end I am happy that I got a deer at all. I guess every hunter has a story about the one that got away, and now I do too. I will leave out the details about field cleaning the deer, but I would give myself a 6 out of 10 for gutting it. Dustin eventually found me while I was gutting it and helped me bring it back to the 4wheeler. When i finally got it home to Springville, V took a look at it and started crying and said "Aye Dave you're so bad." LOL. Anyway, my friend Matt helped my skin and butcher it at his house, we even cooked up a little bit of it, and it was quite delicious! Now we have some venison in the freezer.

A few months ago after the election there was all this talk about the progress this country made a regards to race. Maybe we forgot for a while just how racist we are, and now we are remembering? On another note. Relaxing after work.

It's so nice to come home to a loving home with a wonderful wife and cute little creature.
As you can see we picked a camera. It was the canon SD780. We just got it today, but it seems like a good one so far.
There has been something bothering me lately, as it probably has you too. This government health care crap. My major concern is that people seem to have come to the conclusion that health care is a right. IT IS NOT. I read the Bill Of Rights the other day, health care is not mentioned once. It is not the job of government to provide health care. I could go on and on about how if the government is put in charge of health care, then they should also make sure everyone has a house to live in, food on the table and a steady job, but I won't. Just remember, HEALTH CARE IS NOT A RIGHT! If you think it is, then you also believe you have a right to another persons time and energy, and if you think that then you believe in the slavery of yourself and others.

We lost our camera... boo hoo. So in case you are wondering that is why I have not been updating quite as much as I would like to. Also in case you are in the know, we are looking for a new camera and I think we would like to get either a Cannon Powershot SD780 or a Panasonic Lumix DMC ZR1. Any suggestions would be great.
So, to catch up:
V walked for her graduation (she has 2 classes left but wanted to walk while her mom was here.) It was the most awesome graduation ever. There were only like 15 people graduating so the whole thing took like less than an hour. Also as you can see V's sister made Eva a cool little cap to match her mom.

We also went down to Las Vegas for a few days before she left with The Judith, Prima Donna, KTP and Wiggle Wallet. It was a lot of fun. We ate our selves sick and showed some of Las Vegas to V's mom (although she didn't seem that impressed). As we were going places I told Virginia we had the slowest group of people possible. A grandma, a pregnant woman, a baby and me. So as you might have guessed it was a little bit different than when we were single and would walk almost the entire strip in a day. We saw Le Rev at the Wynn hotel and it was pretty cool.

V's mom left early Tuesday morning and we have just been taking it easy since it's back to just the three of us.
I finally broke down the other day while I was trying to install some baby latches for the cabinet downstairs and came to the conclusion that I had to buy a drill. So I headed to Home Depot and with the advice of Uncle Monkey bought this sweet Ridgid lithium ion powered drill. I think it will serve me well for a long time.
Anyway, hopefully we will get a new camera soon so we can capture more pictures of our little creature and lots of dead rabbits.

It has been a busy past couple of weeks. The worst part of the last few weeks was that our little creature was sick :(. She's better now, after a week and a half of antibiotics. They are still unsure of what she had and if it will come back again, but she is back to her happy little self, so I am happy. On a side note I think that V and I have a good balance of concern for little E. V was worried out of her mind, looking up strange disease on the internet, not sleeping and just being stressed out. I was like "whatever, she's going to be fine". So between I think we have just the right amount of concern.
In some happy news, My mother-in-law is here visiting from Venezuela. She arrived on the 24th and is staying for about a month. We are going down to Las Vegas later this month to show her the sights. It's really nice to have her help V and get to know E. She is so good with E, every time E sees her she starts to smile and laugh. I on the other hand have become the third favorite :( I can be holding E and V will just walk by us and if E sees her mom she will start to cry. It's kind of demoralizing, but I know that once E is really able to play more interactively I will be come the undisputed favorite.
I also started to play in a softball league up in Provo. It's been such a long time since I have played so I am kind of rusty, but it's not really that competitive so I don't get too bugged when I weakly ground out to the pitcher. Hopefully I can have V bring the camera to the next game and get some sweet action shots.

4th of July Weekend was a pretty good one. Friday we went out early for V's birthday and went to Chili's and shopping at Ross. E's favorite things was the molten chocolate cake at Chili's, after V and I had finished we gave the spoon to E, and all of a sudden she knew just what to do with it...

She was scrapping every last drop of chocolate off the plate with the spoon and devouring it! I didn't even know she was capable of using a spoon.
We didn't do much on the 4th because I was working on the car changing the spark plug wires, spark plugs and air filer, but it was nice to be home with my ladies. I was a little worried about my car when I took off the shroud and removed the wires to my spark plugs and they looked like this...

As you can see I had a huge oil leak which made a big mess and also got down into one of the spark plug wells. Also, I have some corrosion in another of the wells. However, I was pleasantly surprised that when I removed the plugs they were all in great condition. Hopefully the Volvo can give me a few more years of service.
Sunday morning we watched the men's final at Wimbledon, and guess who was in the women's final....

Monday was V's birthday, I won't say how old she is, but our birthdays no longer start with the same number LOL. I managed to get off work early so E, V and I went to Tucanos Brazilian grill and then shopping again. We also got a awesome package from The Judith with lots of cute outfits for E and eventually P...

You know it kind of weird for me to look at my posts now days. Before we had our daughter I would look at other peoples blogs with kids and think that they were lame or had no life since all they blogged about was their kids, but now that E is here it's totally understandable just how much these little creatures can consume so much of your life.

Today after V go home from her parade in Cedar Hills (Which she said was lame!) I let her take a nap, then we went out for a drive up the Nebo loop. Here are some pictures from our trip.

We stopped and took a stroll around one of the Payson lakes and had little rest on a blanket and ate snacks.

Then we went and saw "The Devil's Kitchen" also know at "Mini Bryce Canyon"

As you can see, it was a beautiful day and we had a lot of fun with our little creature.
In unrelated news I think it is hilarious how stupid Obama looks now that he is actaully dealing with Kim Jong Il and Ahmadinejad. Before he got elected he was always talking about how he was going to become BFF with all the world leaders we didn't get along with, and now, in one week we get threatened with "total annihilation" from North Korea and this from Iran if we continue to disapprove of the crap going on there:
"You should know that if you continue the response of the Iranian nation will be strong," Ahmadinejad said in a speech to members of Iran's judiciary, which is directly controlled by the ruling clerics. "The response of the Iranian nation will be crushing. The response will cause remorse."
So we are going to be crushed and then annihilated... wow. Obama I guess you little hopey changey thing isn't really working out eh? I am just glad that we will all be homeless because no one will be able to pay thier utility bills, so when we are crushed and annihilated it won't be that big of a deal anyway. It's too bad our President is a big pussy when it comes to other nations, but when it's our own people, I think this bumper sticker says it best...

In other E related news. She is has started to climb to a standing postilion from crawling. Not quite standing on her own, but well on the way.
Work is going well. Looks like we landed a HUGE house (seriously like 64,000 sq.ft. bowling alley, swimming pool, shooting range, basketball court, exercise room,theater, sauna, trophy room ect...) I was working most of yesterday and today on the layout of it. It is going to have over 50 slabs of granite going into it. It's a blessing to be working for a company that is doing so well in such a bad time.
Finally, V had her US the other day and the Doc said he was 2/3 to 3/4 sure that we are having another GIRL!! I am very excited. Not only is it going to be convenient because we won't have to buy a lot of new stuff, but if our second girl is anything like our first I will be a happy man, 'cause E is the BEST!

Memorial day weekend was very nice. I did a few projects around the house, including getting the AC fixed and kind of shafted in the process.
Last week I noticed on a hot day that even though the fan was on there was no hot air coming out of the vents. So I talked to a neighbor (who's little daughter is in our primary class) who works at a heating and air place if he knew anything about how to fix it. He didn't but he referred me to a guy. The next day when the tech came over he diagnosed the problem as a bad capacitor. He also filled the freon up. The service call was $47 and the freon was $30 and the new capacitor was $150!!! While I was outside with the tech another neighbor mentioned that her brother was a HVAC guy and that I should use him in the future. So instead of getting the new capacitor from the tech, I talked to my neighbor, who called her brother and he said that he could install a new one for just $75!! Sweet right? Anyway, when my neighbor's brother (Shane) came over he put the new one on and... nothing. Long story short I had somehow blown a fuse when I took out the temporary one the first tech put in, so Shane had to get a new fuse and then all worked as it should. So for the extra time to find the problem and money for the fuse I ended paying $100 to Shane. As he was leaving I asked him how much the part really cost and after I told him about how much sinks get marked up in the counter top business he told me, only $35. I was not really surprised. I guess everyone is trying to make a buck where they can.
In other news, after a routine check up for V we went to Cafe Rio for lunch and the Utah girl from the last season of American Idol, Megan Joy was there. You probably remember her as (if you watch the show at all) the girl with the full sleeve tattoo on one of her arms. I have not been around "celebrities" (I don't know that she really qualifies) but it was interesting to see the different reactions of the people there. Some would go and ask for photos or autographs, others would just stare at her. I would mostly watch the reaction of the people coming in. It was pretty funny. Some would not even notice, some would look at her and you could tell they were thinking "hey.. isn't that, that one girl.. it is. hmmm" but the most entertaining was a group of 3 high school age girls. They came in and were like "OMG!! that's totally the girl from AI.!!" It was pretty funny, they got a picture with her.
The Creature is also doing well. She is laughing and crawling more every day. We are looking for a DVD of the video we watch all the time with her on youtube called "Susanita tiene un raton" I have tried to research it a little. I know it comes from Spain, but I have not been able to find out if it was a TV show or a video. If you know anyone who might be able to help me let me know.

Finally, a few things about the playoffs.

The Cavs: I used to be a fan, mostly because James is a really good player, but I find that I have started to despise them. Varajeo and Wallace are the most blatant floppers in the league (Ginobili excluded of course). Everyone knows Varajeo is a flopping piece of garbage, but Wallace too? I used to respect this guy when he played for Detroit, but I guess he has been defiled by Varajeo's disgusting antics. They both should be kicked out of basketball and made to play soccer with all the other faking nancy boys.

The Magic: This team has actaully grown on me, however I am very annoyed by Dwight Howard. His lack of decent post moves and short arm free throws drive me crazy!

The Lakers: I HATE THE LAKERS!! If Kobe got under cut and broke his neck during a game, I would have a REALLY hard time not cheering. Also, Lamar Odom (and I have mentioned this before on my blog) is the most worthless piece of crap, and if I hear another television announcer talk about how "supremely talented" he is, I am going to scream!

The Nuggets: This is the team that I think has the best chance to win the title this year. My main complaint with them is how they seem to lose their smart playing near the end of the games.

We found out that V is about 10 weeks along at the doctors office the other day. That puts her due date around the 18th of November. We took this pic at the doctors office.

Which brings up something that has been bothering me recently. It seems that the downturn in the economy the media has tried to demonize rich people. I know it has to do with the democratic move to socialize this country, but it just seems so ridiculous to criticize people who are successful. I bring this up because when I see houses like that I some times say to myself "those darn rich people with their giant houses", but I say that out of jealousy, not spite. Without these rich people I would be out of a job. Anyway, I just get frustrated with how the idiots in the media have become better at making the green/social/liberal movement in this country seem like the logical things to do, and by how many young people seem to buy into that crap.
Finally, some good news... I received notification that I drew a deer tag for the Northern region of Utah. This will be my first deer hunt. I am pretty excited, even though it's not until October. I have a few friends that I might try to get to be my guide. Since I have never been on a deer hunt before I will need some help finding the deer and in case I get one, knowing what to do after I shoot it.

V is one step closer to her permanent residency. We went yesterday and got her finger prints done at an office in SLC. It was surprisingly quick.
I have also been quite the busy homeowner recently fixing a number a minor problems with plumbing, appliances and even putting new brake pads on my car. Here are a few things that have made my life a lot easier.

Tuesday night while taking a shower I noticed that the water would only get to about luke warm, even with it turned all the way to hot. I thought V had used it all up, but when I asked her she said it was the same when she showered. Upon inspection the pilot light in the water heater was out. I read the instructions on how to re-light it, but after I got it lit it would not stay on after I released the pilot light button. I thought I would be able to just clean the thermocouple like I had done with our furnace earlier this month, but after cleaning it, nothing changed. This was at 11pm on Wednesday night, so I was forced to take coldest shower of my life that night. After some research I found that I probably just needed to replace the thermocouple all together.

I had to get one of these to get the old thermocouple off. Now the new one works like a champ.
Last weekend I finally had some time to change my brake pads. After I got the old ones off, the new ones were too thick to fit over the rotor. The Haynes manual just said "push the piston back into the cylinder with pliers" after about an hour and a half of trying to force the piston back I did some research and found that I needed one of these.

The first side took me about 3 hours to change, and the second side took me about 20 minutes.
It's amazing how much of a difference having the right tools can make. It's too bad I don't have a Harbor Freight closer to my house.

Easter weekend was uneventful. With V in her current state we do not really make an effort to go out much. However we did manage to make it to church on Sunday and The Judith sent little E this BEAUTIFUL dress!

I also mowed the lawn for the first time this year in the last week or so. It's nice not having to worry about if the lawn mower is going to start up in the spring (since it doesn't have a motor!) One thing that I am missing very bad is my motorcycle. As you can see I leave it at the top of this page as, kind of a memorial to a lost friend. At the time I sold it, I definitely took it for granted. It had become just a commuter bike, just something to get me from "A" to "B", but now that it's gone...and when I see other people out riding... I think I will always want another one, but who know when that will happen.

You know how just when you seem to get things under control and working the just the way you want them to go something happens, and changes all your plans? Well, you guessed it, we are expecting again! Needless to say we were both a little shocked, but really excited none the less. Yes, it will be hard in the short run, but in the long run I know we will be so happy things happened the way they did. There are so many benefits to having kids close together in age. I was never really close to my own siblings until almost after high school because of our age difference (KT always thought she was too cool!).
In other news:
My friend Jeff interviewed at my job today for a position where he would be working with me. i hope he gets it since my current friend working with me will be moving back to mostly working with the machines.
We've been watching a ton of movies lately. Here's my reviews of them....
Bolt: Freakin' sweet. one of my favorite animations to date.

Yes Man: A return to hilarious Jim Carey movies.

Marley and Me: Quite possibly the lamest since "The Postman" it was a movie about an ordinary family doing ordinary things with a dog I would have taken out back and shot(despite the fact that I am an avid dog lover!)

Tale of Despereaux: Big names, little substance. Might be good to put kids to sleep in the future though.

Horton hears a Who: Unexpectedly funny.

Quantum of Solace: ACTION!!!! YES!!!

Transporter 3: And I thought the second one was bad!

Seven Pounds: Really good in spite of predictability.

I also saw the preview for "Where the Wild Things Are" and I can't wait to see it.
Finaly, I guess I have to post a picture of our little creature eating some real food.

Today, V, E and I got all ready for church and headed over to our building. We were a little late (as usual) but when I turned the corner to the building and saw only one car in the whole parking lot I thought to myself DOH!. Stake Conference was earlier in the morning. So we decided not to just turn around and go home, but rather go for a nice Sunday drive. The weather was beautiful toady and we took advantage of it.

We even took a walk in the park when we got back home.

Then we made a BBQ with steaks and drumsticks YUMM!!
This last week I was 1-1 with my basketball teams. My PG team lost and Provo won. They were both fairly fun games, at least as much fun as you can have when you lost one. The playoffs start soon and hopefully we can make a run and do well.
In other news, we have decided to paint our kitchen, after much harassment from V. We are going to paint it a light yellow. and are thinking about painting the living room a light green, but that is still a ways off.
